October 2012 LCC Staff Dev
The October 2012 staff development theme focused upon ‘creating an exceptional student experience’.
The 14-19 Partnerships team began the day with an activity that used a thinking canvas approach (whereby images helped convey their key messages). The groups were assigned a perspective to consider including; student, staff, management, and schools.
Once a framework was created, teams then looked at the boosters and blockers of each aspect.
The final activity attempted to integrate the findings from each group with the faculty Annual Operating Statement.
This approach allowed individuals to feel valued in terms of their contribution and enabled to make a difference. In addition it helped raise the levels of understanding around the broader College strategic aims.
